PC OR MAC FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN 2016 PC
So bottom line, think outside of that PC box, just because you do not know about it does not mean it is a bad thing. I would recommend the 3 year Apple care plan if you decide to go this way. As for maintaining a Macintosh hands down the easiest machines to maintain, once I set one up I rarely have to work on them after that. If you purchase an iMac, which is what my prepress department is using at 2 different plants, you do not have to worry getting a better monitors. For graphics work I would always recommend a Mac.

We have 50 Macintoshes that run right along with all of the windows computers in the company.
I use a Mac with a widows virtual windows world so that I am able to everything I need to with one computer. I am the Prepress Macintosh Administrator in my company. Other motherboards i have seen max out at 36GB, EVGA brand, just stating that this point was a fail not stating that any of my opions are valid option.) My custom PC cna hold up to 24GB on the motherboard, currently have 12gb. (who ever stated about a mac with 16GB like it was great, your stupid. Id go with what makes you feel that if somthing happended youd feel confident that she would be down for at most a day and a half. For that whole MACs are more dependable crap, lie. I own a MAC but they are overrated, only reason is i got it at a discount.
I am not a MAC hater for all you wandering. A custom PC is cheaper and just as good as a MAC. Could be different for business accounts but since you are just getting one it would be useless to get an account like that. Somthing about warranty voids or somthing stupid. Have friends where they are without their MAC for weeks and they are IT guys. Yes she would be happy that you got her a MAC but what if it fails. I have found this to be over stated and technology has changed since the past 10 yrs.
PC are no longer out done by MACs anymore in the graphics department. Instead of going with a dell vs mac do a custom PC vs. I am going to go out on a limb and go the opposite of the mac.
